FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

DO I NEED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?

Yes, I work alone and book dogs on a one to one basis. Advanced booking is advised to avoid disappointment.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST ?

Dogs come in many different shapes and sizes, the price varies with breed and grooming requirements.  Please get in touch for a quote.

HOW LONG WILL MY DOGS APPOINTMENT TAKE ?

This really depends on the size, behaviour and grooming requirements of your pet. It can take anywhere from 1 hour to 4 Hours. I will always give an estimate of grooming time on drop off and I will contact you prior to the end of your dogs treatment to advise on collection time.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD MY DOG BE GROOMED ?

The Time in between grooms varies breed to breed and will also vary with the length of your dogs coat. For example if your dog is kept in a longer style they will need more frequent visits to the salon. The time in between visits to the salon could be anywhere between 4-12 weeks. If you are unsure on how frequently your dog should visit the groomers please get in touch and I will be happy to advise.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING WITH MY DOG ?

Generally no, if there is a particular toy or treat they like then feel free to bring those along to help them feel more at home during their groom. I would ask that your pet is given sufficient time to relieve themselves prior to their appointment so they can be comfortable during their visit. You may want to feed them as normal but if your pet is particularly nervous then perhaps waiting until after their groom is advised. If your dog has a medicated shampoo prescribed from the vets then this can be used during their visit.

WHEN CAN I START BRINGING MY PUPPY IN FOR GROOMING?

It is best to start bringing your puppy in for grooming as soon as they have had all their puppy vaccinations and are allowed outside. A slow and gentle puppy groom is always advised [see services for more information regarding puppy grooms]

MY DOG IS IN SEASON CAN I STILL BRING HER IN ?

Unfortunately I can not accept female dogs in season into the salon for grooming.

MY DOG IS PREGNANT CAN I BRING HER IN FOR A GROOM ?

Unfortunately I can not accept pregnant females in the salon for grooming.

DO YOU GROOM CATS?

No

MY DOG HAS A LOT OF MATTING IN THEIR COAT, CAN I STILL KEEP THEM FLUFFY?

The animal welfare act 2006 dictates that no unnecessary pain and suffering is caused to an animal there for legally I am obliged to advise on the kindest pain and stress free option when it comes to matted dogs. When a dogs coat gets to the point where there is tight matting there is often no choice but to clip close to the skin to remove the matted coat. This often means the desired look may be shorter than hoped for but its in the best interest of your pet which is my main priority. I will always give realistic advice with what to expect if your pet has matting prior to going ahead with the groom.

MY DOG CAN BE AGGRESSIVE WHEN BEING GROOMED WILL YOU GROOM THEM ?

Your dogs well being is my main priority when in the salon. As I work alone it may be that I can not accept your dog for their own and my own safety. With several years of experience in handling dogs with all types of behaviour I will always make the safest decision when it comes to an aggressive dog. If I cannot groom your dog due to aggressive behaviour I will always advise on what steps to take next for your dogs well being. Disclosing known aggressive behaviour to your groomer prior to grooming is so important ! it allows us to take steps to prevent what could be a potential career ending bite or injury. We only have one pair of hands!

CAN I STAY WITH MY DOG DURING THE GROOM?

As your dog loves you very much they will try and wriggle around to get closer to you. As I am working with sharp scissors its so important to have full concentration on what I am doing and to keep your dog as calm and still as possible during the groom. It is best to drop your pet off at their scheduled time and collect them when they are ready. If In rare circumstances I feel it would be beneficial for you to stay with your pet I will make that decision at my own discretion and advise on the best way to groom your pet with you present.

WHAT PAYMENT TYPES DO YOU ACCEPT ?

I accept cash and card payments.

WHAT IF I AM UNHAPPY WITH THE SERVICE MY DOG RECEIVES ?

If for any reason you are not satisfied with the service your dog has received please get In touch within two working days from your dogs appointment and I will try my very best to resolve any problem there may be. Pet parent satisfaction is very important to me and I always strive to provide the very best service for you and your pets.
